How did you first learn about B12? What led you to select it as your website builder?

I was searching for different website building options online and stumbled upon a post for B12. The idea of creating a free AI website draft intrigued me and I decided to try it out. While going through the initial website draft process, one of the sales representatives contacted me and addressed all my questions and concerns, such as how I could access the data and code to find out where my potential leads are. My previous website builder did not have the ability to embed code, which was the biggest gap for me. Plus, I knew that I needed someone to help me out with the backend aspect of my website, and B12 offered that too. Knowing that B12 was able to address my two greatest concerns convinced me to sign up with them.

When did you first launch your business’s website, when did you launch your B12 website, and what impact did your B12 website have on your business’s performance?

My first website was launched in February of 2018 with my previous website builder and I switched over to B12 a couple of weeks ago in April 2019. While I have yet to see any significant changes since I started my B12 website, I am incredibly happy to be able to organize the content on my site according to my style and preference. B12 offers a lot more customizable features than my previous website builder. While this can also pose as a double-edged sword considering the learning curve, it soon became a great tool for me to use and change any content whenever I want to.

What’s one piece of advice you’d offer a business owner looking to launch a new website?

The most important advice I would offer to a business owner starting a website would be to understand how to best present your business on your homepage. The homepage is your message to the world. Being able to present yourself in a presentable and trustworthy manner takes an immense amount of research and understanding. If you do not want to take that time to do it, get someone else to do it for you. I stumbled through it for quite a while but eventually worked through the concepts needed to establish my new website presence. Take each of those bumps as opportunities to learn and grow.

Tell us about your business. What made you start it, when did you start it, and what’s been your biggest achievement to date?

When I was in the military, my ankle was often injured and as a result, they became weaker. Thereafter, while I was in Germany, I suffered frostbite in my feet and had nerve damage in my toes, which made it hurt to get underneath a blanket when going to sleep. I needed a way to lift the sheets off my feet and not apply pressure on my feet. That was when I thought of cutting up a piece of foam and slotted it at the bottom of my bed to keep my ankles away from the blanket. It worked out and I shared it with a couple of other people who loved the idea as well! That was when I started my Kickstarter fundraising which worked out successfully. We’ve been in business for almost a year and a half now. Since its inception, I knew I needed higher visibility in my data in order to make better business decisions, which was something that B12 offered. My business has been growing ever since.

My biggest achievement so far has been the journey of acquiring the knowledge needed to start a business from scratch. There were multiple occasions when I had to go through the basics and learn everything once again despite my MBA background.
