Every business has their own unique workflows. That’s why setting up next steps in B12 has been made with ultimate flexibility so you can fully tailor your client’s online experience. 

If you have client engagement tools set up already in B12, to add next steps, log in to your B12 account. In the left menu, click into scheduling, intake forms, or payments. You’ll see a section called Next Steps. Based on the feature you’ll be provided with options for what a visitor should do after they engage with that feature. 

For example, after a visitor submits their contact information, perhaps you want to redirect them to schedule an appointment. Or after a client has scheduled an appointment, maybe you want to send them to a page with guidance on what to bring to the meeting. When your client signs a service contract, maybe you want to add the next step of making a payment? 

B12 lets you define what their experience will be to ensure it best suits your business.

Taking advantage of this new capability means first accessing and enabling B12’s client engagement tools. B12’s client engagement features include things like contact management, email marketing, contracts and eSignatures, client intake, online payments, scheduling, and more. These tools help turn your website into more than just a digital business card – they make it an interactive platform for you to manage clients and run your business.

Customize your client experience

B12 lets you define what their experience will be to ensure it best suits your business.

Reduce client uncertainty and friction  

With next steps programmed in, clients are automatically redirected to the next thing you want them to do. That means less time wasted with follow-ups and recapping processes. B12 will even prepopulate any form data from previous steps to reduce the burden on your clients. 

For example, if you’ve set up the next step from a form submission as payment, B12 will carry forward information like name, email, and phone number from the form submission to the payments form. That means fewer chances for client frustration and a greater probability they’ll complete the required actions to keep projects progressing. 

Streamline the payments process

In addition to making workflows more efficient, B12 also provides the ability to expedite your client’s purchase process. Any call-to-action button (CTA) on your site can now link directly to a payment page. 

In the B12 Editor select any page on your site, choose the link you want to adjust, and from the drop-down change the link type to Make a Payment. You’ll then be able to create a new, or link to an existing, payment details template that describes how your clients will be able to pay you online.

This is a great way to expedite the payment process and reduce time wasted chasing down checks or resending payment portal links, especially if you offer standardized service packages or service add-ons.
