Orchids is shutting down: how to migrate your project

Orchids and Bud are shutting down on July 18, 2026, to join Figma. If you built a site or web app there, you're on a deadline to move it.
After the 18th, anything hosted on Orchids or Bud goes offline. You have options though. There are two things to do before then: save a copy of your work so you always have it, and rebuild your project on B12 so it's live again.
What's happening with Orchids?
Orchids and Bud will stay live until July 18, but that's when they'll shut down and projects hosted there stop being deployed. That only gives you a few days to save your work and get your project rebuilt somewhere new.
You can read the official announcement from the Orchids team here.
Step 1: Save a copy of your work
Orchids gives you two ways to save your work.
Download it. Export your project and you'll get a .zip of your codebase. This is the simplest option and the one most people will use.
Save it to GitHub. If you'd rather keep your code in a repo, Orchids can push your project to GitHub. This is helpful for developers who want version control, and it's a good backup either way.
Orchids has step-by-step walkthroughs for both, on web and desktop, in their announcement post. Do this before the 18th, even if you haven't decided where you're moving to.
Step 2: Rebuild and launch it on B12
If you're looking for somewhere to go, B12 is a nice Orchids alternative. You rebuild by sharing your site and a few screenshots.
Here’s the suggested flow:
- Copy your Orchids project URL while it's still up.
- Paste that link into B12's prompt box when you sign up. B12 reads your site and turns it into a starting point.
- Add screenshots of the pages and features you liked most, so B12 can see what to keep.
- Shape it by chatting with the agent: adjust design, add pages, ask for a backend.
This is a chance to rethink what you actually want. You know what worked and what didn’t in your Orchids project. Fix something that always bugged you, add a feature you never got to, or refresh the design. You're rebuilding with a big head start.
B12 creates websites, web apps, online stores, portfolios, and more. If your project has a backend, describe what you need and B12's AI Agent builds it in: user accounts and logins, a database, payments and bookings, and connections to tools like Stripe or Calendly. Backends run on Supabase, the infrastructure trusted by millions of developers, so it works great for real workloads and you don't set it all up yourself.
You can start for free and have it running today.
FAQs about Orchids shutdown
When do Orchids and Bud shut down?
July 18, 2026. After that, projects hosted there are no longer deployed, so save your work before then.
How do I move my project to B12?
While your Orchids site is still live, paste its URL into B12's prompt box when you sign up, and add screenshots of the parts you want to keep. B12 turns that into a personalized starting point, and you refine it by chatting.
Will my web app still work after I move it?
Yes. You rebuild it on B12 by pointing it at your live site and describing what you want. If it has a backend, you can rebuild those pieces by telling the AI Agent what you need. If you have data stored in databases or storage buckets on Orchids’ infrastructure, this might require a further migration.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Just describe what you want and the AI Agent builds it. If you do want to get into the code, you can.
What if I miss the July 18 deadline?
Once Orchids and Bud are offline, you can't export or reach your old site anymore. So save your work now, and rebuild on B12 while your original is still live for reference. Otherwise, you can always start a fresh project with B12 and describe what you want.
How long does moving to B12 take?
Generating your site or app only takes a couple of minutes. Bigger, more complex projects may take a little longer to finalize, but you're just chatting through it, so it’s very easy.
Build your project better with B12
Even though Orchids is shutting down, you have options. Save your project today, bring it to B12, and get back to what you were doing before.
